Post Op Care
Post operative care is the care that a patient needs to take after
surgery. This includes post op transportation. The goal of post operative care
is to reduce the recovery time and make sure that the patient can maintain
their physical, mental, and social well-being. Post op transportation is a
critical aspect of post operative care. It's important that patients are taken
home safely by someone who knows how to provide postoperative care, or they
will not be able to recover properly.
The complications that can arise during surgery are called the
"after effects" and can include infections, bleeding, etc. The aftereffects
must be treated with post operative care. In addition to the types of post
operative care listed above here is a list of common things that come up in
"post op" situations: -Antibiotics-Pain medications-Antiemetic
agent-IV fluids and blood transfusions-Sterilization-Initiation of physical
therapy -Resuming normal activities-Picking up prescriptions-Family members
coming to check on the patient -Families coming to visit-Friends coming to
visit -Meals and snacks -Laundry-Household duties-
